WHO CAN APPLY FOR COURT MARRIAGE: -

ANY adult couple belonging to different castes, religions, or nationalities can apply for a court marriage. Both partners should be of legal marriageable age (18 years for the bride and 21 years for the groom) and willing to marry of their own free consent without any coercion. The court marriage allows couples to legally formalize their marriage in front of a marriage officer without religious ceremonies or customs.

  • Proof of Age: Birth certificate or any government-issued ID indicating the age of both partners (e.g., passport, Aadhaar card).
  • Residence Proof: Address proof of both partners (e.g., Aadhaar card, voter ID, passport, or utility bills).
  • Passport-sized Photographs: Recent passport-sized photographs of both partners.
  • Affidavit of Solemnization: An affidavit stating the date of marriage, marital status, and consent to marry.
  • Marriage Invitation: A marriage invitation card, if applicable.
  • Divorce Decree or Death Certificate: If either partner is divorced or widowed, relevant documents as proof.
  • Witnesses: Two witnesses with their ID and address proofs.
